What is uni records?

Uni Records was an American record label founded by Frank Sinatra in 1966, and was eventually sold to MCA Inc. in 1971. The label released music from a variety of genres, including rock, pop, soul, jazz, and country. Some of the notable artists who recorded for Uni Records included Neil Diamond, Elton John, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Who, and Marianne Faithfull. Uni Records also released the soundtrack albums for several films, including Easy Rider and Midnight Cowboy. Despite the label's success, it was merged into MCA's other record label, MCA Records, in the mid-1970s.
